In addition to the Elvis Presley biopic starring Austin Butler, there is a new, wackier-sounding project in the works inspired by the King of Rock and Roll. Netflix has announced a new show, Agent King, which is described as an "adult animated comedy" in which Elvis becomes recruited by a secret government program to take down the forces of evil. The public is none the wiser, as the legendary performer continues to wow crowds of adoring fans while saving the world.
Agent King is produced by King's ex-wife Priscilla Presley, who is also the chairwoman of Elvis Presley Enterprises. Singer John Eddie is also involved with the project, which is being produced by the Sony Pictures Animation (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Smurfs).

Mike Arnold--who wrote for Archer--is the showrunner, writer, and executive producer on Agent King. Famous menswear designer John Varvatos will create the model for Elvis' entire wardrobe for Agent King.
Netflix officially announced Agent King today, August 16, which is the 42nd anniversary of Elvis' death in 1977.
"From the time Elvis was a young boy he always dreamed of being the superhero fighting crime and saving the world! Agent King lets him do just that," Priscilla Presley said in a statement (via Deadline). "My co-creator John Eddie and I are so excited to be working with Netflix and Sony Animation on this amazing project and getting the chance to show the world an Elvis they haven't seen before."
There is no word yet on when Agent King will premiere or who will voice Elvis in the series.
As for the Elvis biopic, it opens in theatres on October 1, 2021; Tom Hanks also stars as Elvis' longtime manager Col. Tom Parker in the film that's directed by Baz Luhrmann.
