Actor Danny Trejo turned into a real hero on Wednesday, saving a special-needs boy, who was trapped in an overturned car.
Danny Trejo witnessed a car crash on Wednesday, after a Toyota ran a red light and crashed into an Explorer, overturning it, according to the actor. A woman and her young child ended up trapped in the second car.
When the actor approached the vehicle, he saw a woman in the front seat, who was pinned and kept screaming “My baby, my baby!”.
Trejo then went over to the back seat and with the help of another bystander pulled open the door to see a special needs boy stuck in the back.
“If that kid wouldn’t’ have been in a car seat, it would have been all over for him. It [the collision] tore the car seat off the safety belt, but he was still in the car seat,” he told ABC News.
The actor managed to pull the boy out and his prior experience with dealing with special needs children helped him calm the panicked boy down and keep soothing him until firemen were able to pull his grandmother out.
“He was panicked and I said ‘its okay, we have to use our superpowers’. So he screamed ‘superpowers’ and we started yelling ‘superpowers’. I said do this, with the muscles. He said ‘muscles’. And so we got kind of like a bond, I guess. I kept on facing him away from the accident and just talking to him,” Trejo said.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, three people were transported to hospital, adding that the injuries were not life-threatening.
