- The Duchess of Sussex has stepped out in London for the U.K. premiere of Disney's The Lion King, alongside her husband, Prince Harry.
- Meghan Markle shared the red carpet with Beyoncé, who provides the voice of Nala in the movie. The pair were captured on camera hugging before the screening.
- For the occasion, Meghan wore a chic Jason Wu dress with sheer sleeves.
The London premiere of Disney's The Lion King, taking place on July 14, 2019, is turning out to be a star-studded event.
Despite still being on maternity leave, following the birth of baby Archie earlier this year, Meghan Markle has reportedly chosen to attend the British premiere. Royal mothers can apparently pick and choose the public appearances they make during their maternity leave, and as The Lion King is one of the world's most beloved movies, who would blame her?
Arriving at the glitzy premiere alongside her husband, Duchess Meghan looked absolutely stunning on the red (or should I say orangey yellow?) carpet. She wore a stunning black Jason Wu dress with long sheer sleeves which is still available to shop for $2,450. According to @MeghansMirror, the duchess also wore Nikos Koulis earrings, and carried a Gucci Broadway clutch.
As per usual, she looked nothing short of stunning:
Discussing Meghan's appearance on Twitter, royal correspondent Omid Scobie wrote, "Buckingham Palace confirm that Duchess Meghan will be joining Harry on the carpet for the #LionKing premiere this Sunday. And yes, @Beyonce’s people tell me that she will be attending. Expect the internet break down." Understandably, fans were pretty excited about the prospect of the Duchess of Sussex and Beyoncé crossing paths.
And ahead of the event, Scobie tweeted, "Last minute carpet prep in Leicester Square for the royal premiere of #TheLionKing. Expect some BIG red carpet surprises...":
