The 2020 Grammys aren’t until January 26th, but the nominations were announced today.
With 84 categories in total, there are plenty of awards to go ‘round. But there’s one artist who stands out this year…Lizzo.
She is up for the most Grammys – eight in all.

As Rolling Stone reports, the nominations Lizzo is in the running for are Best New Artist, Album of the Year ‘Cuz I Love You’ (Deluxe), Best Urban Contemporary Album ‘Cuz I Love You,’ Record of the Year ‘Truth Hurts,’ Song of the Year ‘Truth Hurts,’ Best Pop Solo Performance ‘Truth Hurts,’ Best R&B Performance ‘Exactly How I Feel’ (w/ Gucci Mane), and Best Traditional R&B Performance ‘Jerome.’
2 Other Artists Making A Splash
Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X tie for second most nominations with six apiece. At just 17-years-old, Eilish is a record-maker already, being the youngest artist to ever rack up so many nominations for one awards show.
1 Hard Work And Happy Fans
While some fans only recently got to know Lizzo, she actually released her debut album in 2013. But 2019 was her hottest year yet, and her eight Grammy noms are a reflection of her hard work and widespread audience appreciation.
