Meghan Markle brings back Martin Grant dress she wore in Australia for special reception in Cape Town - HELLO! Canada

By Zach Harper

Some dresses you can wear anywhere, whether it be at the beach or a reception at the British High Commissioner’s residence. That’s the case with Duchess Meghan’s sleeveless maxi dress by Martin Grant!

We last saw the Duchess of Sussex in the dress while she and Prince Harry were on tour in Australia in October 2018. The then-37-year-old paired it with espadrille wedges and accessorized with Karen Walker earrings, wearing her hair up. This time, her hair was down and Meghan wore minimal jewellery.

During the reception at the British High Commissioner’s residence, Harry and Meghan presented Jade Bothma and Hunter Mitchell with Commonwealth Points of Light prizes. The awards recognize “inspirational volunteers” in the Commonwealth, and recognize those who have given their time to improve society and make the world a better place.

This was Meghan’s third outfit change of the day, which is so impressive. In the morning, she attended an event at Cape Town’s Monwabisi Beach wearing a jean jacket, black jeans and a white shirt with sunglasses, carrying a simple tote. In the afternoon, she and Harry stepped out to the Auwal Mosque, the oldest mosque in South Africa. Meghan wore a cream headscarf with a khaki dress by Staud and nude flats by Sam Edelman.

As for those espadrilles Meghan wore in Australia, we saw her in them twice on the first day of the royal tour. The duchess stepped out in them at her first engagement with Harry on Sept. 23 and also wore them to the District 6 Museum the same day.

We’ll see Meghan and Harry at two different engagements on Sept. 25 before Harry heads to Botswana, Angola and Malawi on separate solo trips, so there’s still plenty of time to see Meghan in many more awesome wardrobe choices!
