UPDATE: According to Mirvish, Hamilton ticket sales has officially broken a record. And the good news is, tickets are still available. Read more here.
For many theatre lovers in Toronto hoping to catch Hamilton, Monday was a big day.
Public tickets for next year’s Broadway show finally went on sale, but for many, this is what computer screens looked like for a long, long time.
If you were one of those thousands, you were clearly not alone.
And as of 9:25 am on Monday morning, there were 30,663 in the queue. That’s 25 minutes after tickets went on sale.
The tickets are so hot right now, that some have been trying to buy them off resale sites. Something Mirvish is warning against.
We have been reading lots of comments about tickets to HAMILTON available on Stubhub and other re-selling websites. We would like to remind our customers that no tickets have left our system. In fact, tickets will only be printed beginning Dec 2 and mailed out at that time. (1/2)

It said that it hasn’t printed tickets yet, therefore the tickets advertised are fraudulent.
“Therefore tickets advertised on any re-selling sites are fraudulent. They are selling nothing because they have nothing. Buyer beware. Ask to see the actual ticket, and you will see you will be given nothing,” said Mirvish.
The touring production of Hamilton is making its highly anticipated Canadian debut this winter.
Mirvish Productions is bringing the hip-hop musical about the making of America to Toronto for a limited engagement as part of the 2019-20 Mirvish subscription season.
The broadway sensation will be taking over Toronto’s Ed Mirvish Theatre from February 11 through May 17, 2020.
For those who finally get through the thousands in line, there is a maximum purchase limit of four tickets per household, and prices will range from $50 to $250 with a select number of $499 premium seats available for all performances.
There will also be a lottery for forty $10 seats for all performances. Lottery details will be announced closer to the engagement.
As for us, the good news is, there are only 28,464 ahead of us in line now.
