Queen of Pop Madonna brushed off her new alleged reputation of Queen of Being Late at a Las Vegas show Saturday and in response to a lawsuit.
“Here’s something you all need to understand, and that is … a queen is never late,” she said to whoops and cheers from The Colosseum crowd at her concert.
Madonna‘s tardy habit has caused division amongst her fans, who are upset by the delayed start times at concerts.
Among them is a Florida man who is pursuing legal action against the pop star for breach of contract at her upcoming Miami show on the Madame X tour.
Nate Hollander filed a class action lawsuit in Miami-Dade court last week, BuzzFeed News reported.
Hollander said he bought three tickets, that came to US$1,024.95, for the Dec. 17 show at the Jackie Gleason Theater. However, months after he secured the tickets, Live Nation changed the start time from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. for the rest of the tour, the suit said, because Madonna is known for starting her concerts later than original time.
Hollander said he tried to get a refund from the ticket service, but was unsuccessful. In the suit, he alleges that reselling the ticket will result in a financial loss because of the later start time.
This could especially affect any teens wishing to attend a Madonna concert in Miami, where the county has a curfew of 11 p.m. for those younger than 18. Now, they won’t be able to attend the show.
Some Madonna fans didn’t seem to take kindly to her late starts or cheeky remark to the lawsuit.
Some even shared their gripes about Madonna starting late at her Las Vegas show at The Colosseum.
