Rocking wrestler Chris Jericho has launched his bid for a holiday chart spot by releasing a new version of The Kinks’ Father Christmas.
The Fozzy frontman’s cover of the 1977 festive tune imagines a department store Santa fighting off an attack from local thugs.
The song was previously recorded by Cheap Trick.
Proceeds from Jericho’s new version, recorded as Chris Jericho & the Christmas Helves, will benefit a juvenile diabetes charity.
He’s not the only heavy rocker getting festive this year — Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford has released a heavy metal holiday album.
Celestial features seasonal favourites and new compositions with a hard rock theme.
