Royal heartbreak: Why Harry and Meghan were ‘in floods of tears’ before wedding day - Express

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry married in their stunning royal wedding last year. However, both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were reportedly in “floods of tears” at their wedding rehearsal. Prince William was also “upset” on behalf of his brother and new sister-in-law, too, just two days before they tied the knot.

According to a report in The Sun on the day of the royal wedding last year, both Prince Harry and Meghan were “sobbing” and “inflows of tears” over the Duchess’ father’s decision not to attend his daughter’s nuptials.

After becoming embroiled in a series of staged paparazzi photos in the US, after requests from the Meghan and the Palace for the media to leave her father alone, Thomas Markle decided to pull out of walking his daughter down the aisle due to health concerns.

Instead, Meghan entered St George’s Chapel alone, and Prince Charles met her in the sanctuary of the chapel to escort his new daughter-in-law to the altar.

A courtier who was present for the wedding rehearsal told the newspaper: “They were both in tears at what is going on with Meghan’s father in America.

“Prince William was pretty upset as well.”

Both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were said to have pleaded with Mr Markle to attend their big day.

The rehearsal for the big day took place two days before the royal wedding, with both Meghan and Harry spotted smiling together as they were driven along the carriage route in Windsor.

After the rehearsal, the Duke and Duchess joined Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland for afternoon tea with the Queen.
