Pedophile rocker Gary Glitter to rake in thousands from 'Joker' soundtrack - CANOE

Convicted pedophile, singer Gary Glitter, is set to rake in thousands from his appearance on the Joker soundtrack.

The disgraced star’s track Rock and Roll Part 2 plays for around two minutes in a key scene in the flick, which sees Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker dance down a long flight of steps as he fully transforms into the DC Comics villain.

While Glitter is currently serving a 16-year jail sentence for attempted rape, indecent assault and having sex with a child under 13, the inclusion of the song is set to make thousands for the star in royalties.

In addition to the lump sum he received for letting the recording be used in the movie, he’ll also be paid royalties based on how well the film does in cinemas, plus DVD sales and sales of the film’s soundtrack.

Fans have taken to social media to rage over the musician profiting from the movie, insisting: “That monster doesn’t deserve royalties.”

“Gary Glitter gets royalties for Joker. They’re literally paying a paedophile to use his music in a movie about the consequences of child abuse. I’m off the fence — this movie is immoral bulls—,” another added, while a third user tweeted after seeing the film: “I still haven’t recovered from the shock of hearing Gary Glitter.”

Glitter, real name Paul Gadd, was first jailed in 1999 for downloading images of child abuse. He was then jailed in Vietnam in 2006 for molesting two girls aged 11 and 12 before being released in 2008.

He was sentenced for his current conviction in 2015, and is expected to be due for release in 2021.
